Content: Write it, it will be worth it!

Google,  Smarts, and Prospects. You know what those three items are? Some of the top reasons why you should sit and take the time to write content for your website.

I don’t generally stop a blog topic off with the main points from the article, but today we make an exception. This is a very important topic that is undervalued and under-appreciated by many business owners.

Other than having the trivial (hah) task of approving and providing feedback, we don’t require much from our clients. We really are a full service provider that aims to take any and all pressure off of the client when having a new website built.

The one area we do require the client to get down and dirty with is content.

At the end of the day your website is only going to be as good as your content is. A lot of companies are afraid to tell you that because they‘re actually afraid you might not build the website if you know something is being required of you. We, however, don’t care! We’d rather not lie to you and in turn steal your money.

Regardless , let me explain the details behind the three reasons I gave you in the beginning of this blog article on why you should take the time and write content for your website.

Google

If Google is important to you and coming up in searches matter, then you should care about your content. The secret to great rankings in the search engines all comes down to content.

Google is constantly updating their algorithms to detect who has the most relevant websites – and one of the main factors is content. Unique content, relevant content, amount of content, etc. With Google, as Mike Farin would say, “Content is KING”. The more content you have, the better.

Many companies are interested in search engine optimization, and that’s great, but if you want to get a head start, you can start producing content for your website on the regular that is keyword-rich and SEO-optimized.

Prospects

If someone is on your website, it’s most likely because they want to learn more about you and your company. Your website, if nothing else, should serve as a glorified business card. The website should contain general information on what you do and who you are.

Your website should serve as the bridge from when someone hears about you to when someone calls you to get more in-depth information. Having content that discusses generalized information is great. Not only can visitors read the material at their leisure, but it saves you time on the phone from explaining the preface to your company, and time is money!

Smarts

As stated in the explanation above, when someone is on your website, for the most part it’s because they want to learn more about you. While generalized information on your industry can be acceptable content, you should really make use of your website and add unique content.

Unique content is great to put your logic and experience on display for all to see. This content should give your visitors a peace of mind that not only do you know what you're talking about, but that you can do it in a way nobody else can and/or better than they can.

Ultimately, content that shows off your logic, experience, and talent will lead people in to wanting to learn more and to calling you to get the final details to know what has to happen next to get the ball rolling.
