What’s your favorite thing to do outside of work? Eat at any local steakhouse, especially Black and Blue.

What was the last great meal you had? Filet, lobster and shrimp at Sakura. It was delicious.

What do you DVR? Yankees games, Criminal Minds, The Office.

Have you ever met a celebrity? Yeah. They’re just people.

What’s your favorite book? The Bible, more specifically, (The Book of) Job.

What’s in your glove compartment? Three Blackberry car chargers.

When’s bedtime? Usually around 11 p.m. or midnight.

What do you do for exercise? Work out Monday through Friday morning with trainer Danny Padilla and run on Saturday mornings.

What one thing — not person or pet — would you save in a fire? My Bible. My phone’s already in my hand.

What makes you cringe? Nancy Pelosi’s smile.

If you could have dinner with any historical figure, living or dead, who would it be?

Winston Churchill. He was one of the greatest historical leaders of all time. A lot of his quotes and speeches can still be applied in today’s world.

If you could relive one moment, what would it be? (When I accepted) Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.

Where do you see yourself five years from now? Building more Web sites for bigger companies and continuing to run my business.

During a visit to the college last week, Justin Basch, owner of Basch Solutions, told students in Amy Valente’s advertising class how he got into the Web design business as a teen.

Amy said that she brought Justin in to speak to her class because she wanted the students to realize the dramatic impact that the Internet has had on advertising

“Justin created an extremely successful web design business using social networking tools, such as Facebook, as his primary advertising tools to gain new customers. He spends very little time and money on traditional advertising methods, said Amy.

“Students can connect with someone like Justin because he is using tools that they understand, but using these tools to make connections and gain new customers.”

Now in his 20s, the self-taught Basch runs his online marketing and Web site design and development business out of his home in Spencerport.

Basch’s fascination with Web sites began at age 10. As he figured out how Web sites work, he set out to replicate them.

By the time Basch was 14, people started asking him to design Web sites, prompting him to consider his own business. He learned the ropes, he said, by reading books, observing what makes CEOs successful and trial and error.

For several years, Basch did it all. The workload became too much for him when he was 18, so he started hiring freelancers. Today, Basch has 20 to 30 freelancers from all over the world working for him.

Clients include Olympic gold medalists, religious ministries, resource centers and local and international businesses.
